Interview | Bo Huang producer "You are my spring", this time is different!
Special feature of 1905 film network "Everyone who guards the spring is worth remembering." This is the deep meaning in the movie title.
This anti-epidemic theme film, which will be released on July 1st, is directed by Zhou Nan, Zhang Chi, Dong Yue and Ren Zhi, and depicts an anti-epidemic group of ordinary China people from the perspective of a nobody.
The cast is also very strong: led by,,,,, Chao Huang, yangsi,,, Zhang Hangcheng, etc., they jointly interpret the joys, sorrows and mutual help of ordinary people in extraordinary times.
Recently, Bo Huang, the producer of You Are My Spring, accepted an exclusive interview with China’s film report, talked about the behind-the-scenes film creation, and shared how to make every day a "spring" under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control.
"recording the times with movies"
"Writing era is one of the functions of movies, and recording ordinary people in the great era is what we filmmakers should do." Talking about the original intention of "You are my spring", producer Bo Huang said, "We have witnessed so many touching things, and I hope this movie can inspire people with real emotions."
The film consists of five vivid and touching stories: Zhou Dongyu and YIN FANG play a pair of "long-distance lovers" who are cut off by the epidemic but go to each other; Song Xiaobao and Pan Binlong were ordinary migrant workers, but they stepped forward in times of crisis and turned into fearless and retrograde enthusiasts.
Wang Jingchun and Angel interpreted the warm help between neighbors from unfamiliar to familiar; Chao Huang and yangsi, the medical "husband and wife", did their duty faithfully, and remained firm in their belief after where will you go’s experience.
Huang Xiaoming and Song Jiaze are a couple separated from each other. The wife went to the front line to "fight the virus", and the husband took on the responsibility of nursing father at home, and staged a series of parent-child daily activities with tears in laughter with his son.
When talking about how these stories were chosen, Bo Huang said that each story has its own emphasis, which not only shows affection, love, friendship and neighborhood feelings, but also takes into account different styles such as comedy, touching and warmth.
Perhaps these characters have no specific prototype, but many details come from the common experience of China people during that period, which easily resonates with the audience.
"Those hugs with a distance, the tears through the glass, and the sadness of being helpless when facing the departure of comrades-in-arms and partners, these pictures are familiar to everyone, and they are all real things," Bo Huang said.
As a realistic film, this "realism" is also the pursuit of the creative team. As director Dong Yue said: "The director is not an authority, and authority is the most real thing."
To this end, he demands the polishing of every detail, requiring actors to participate in the performance together with real medical workers. Every step and every technique must be carefully examined by professionals.
Rao Xiaozhi also insisted on real-life shooting, constantly discussing plans with the art group and building an ordinary family of three; Yu-sheng Tian also visited several old communities, which restored the real environment of community workers one by one: it was full of stacked epidemic prevention supplies and cardboard boxes labeled "One party is in trouble and all parties support".
Actor Wang Jingchun can’t help but sigh: "When I entered the shooting scene, I was really touched and shocked."
In order to create a sense of character, Huang Xiaoming offered to "increase sunburn, and have traces of being beaten by years". He also appeared for the first time with real white hair and performed a grounded tour guide image in Sichuan dialect.
In Bo Huang’s view, starting from real life, moving with real emotions is the charm of the film: these stories and materials from reality are the source of our creative strength.
"Watch Spring with the Industry"
After that, You Are My Spring is the second work produced by Bo Huang. When it comes to identity transformation, Bo Huang admits that it is very different from being an actor, and it needs more objective thinking and overall planning ability.
"In the script stage, we should sort out the script with everyone, coordinate the length and rhythm of each part in the shooting, and combine good editing and soundtrack in the later stage, which requires me to be more objective."
From preparation to filming, You Are My Spring took two years to create, which is also a unique experience for Bo Huang and all the masters.
"It’s not easy to finish this film. It’s really rare that we can assemble so many excellent creators, from directors and actors to behind-the-scenes photography and art, etc."
As a member of the film and television industry, Bo Huang also personally felt the impact of the epidemic on the industry, but just like the theme of the film transmission, in the face of difficulties, it is even more necessary to help each other in the same boat and adjust the face with a positive attitude. "I hope everyone can join hands and get out of this haze as soon as possible."
Bo Huang also revealed that this special period allowed him to gain rare leisure time, to finish what he wanted to do before, and to cultivate a new hobby of "clay sculpture".
"From another angle, there will be different gains. For example, I made clay sculptures in the crew’s bathroom and found a lot of happiness. This is a reward from God, which gives me another way to express myself. "
On June 10th, the single-day box office of China film market broke 100 million again after 103 days. On June 18th, the total box office of the summer file broke through the 1 billion mark; All kinds of signs have shown that the spring of movies is coming again, and Bo Huang, as a filmmaker, can’t hide his excitement.
"Just like the film title, we hope to see the flowers bloom in spring, see everyone’s carefree smiling faces, and we also hope to meet the spring of life and the spring of the film industry," Bo Huang said. "When the industry continues to recover, we are also willing to be a vanguard. First of all, we will cheer up the market, bring confidence to everyone and tell everyone that there is no difficulty, and there is no spring that will not come!"
